Salita Calling Ali’s Bluff: “We’ll See If Laila’s Talk is Real!”

Dmitry Salita Looking for Laila Ali’s Money!

After a brief but intense war of words, undisputed middleweight and unified junior middleweight champion Claressa “T-Rex” Shields (10-0, 2 KO’s) took to social media to inform that she is wiping her hands of her feud with the retired Laila “She Bee Stingin” Ali (24-0, 21 KO’s).

The two women recently went for one another’s throats verbally following a series of individual interviews that they conducted.

During an appearance on the Breakfast Club radio show, T-Rex reaffirmed her belief that she was the GWOAT and stated that if they met she was sure she would defeat Ali in the ring. Upon hearing those words, Ali both returned fire and raised the ante on the Sway in the Morning radio show.

Not only did she say that she would defeat Shields, Ali claimed that T-Rex was not skilled enough win and would get knocked out!

Obviously this did not sit well with Shields and the war of words began.

PUTTING MONEY WHERE THE MOUTH IS

Despite all the attention that the very visible rivalry garnered, few believe that it will come to pass. To begin, Ali is 42 years old, has been retired for 13 years and has a successful business outside the ring.

Furthermore, she is demanding 5 to 10 million dollars for the fight when no female boxer has even received a million dollar payday.

As a result, there is a common perception that she is purposefully pricing herself out of the fight. This is not going to stop Shields’ promoter, Dmitry Salita, from trying to find the money though!

As the monotone fighter explained to Fight Hype TV, he plans on forcing Ali to show or disprove her sincerity.

“I think that would be a really tremendous, huge event. We are interested. Laila obviously wants a lot of money and we’ll see if we can put it together and make a real offer to her and see if her talk is real.

“But I think that would probably be one of the biggest sporting events in recent times.”

It would be really fun to see what would happen if he could raise the money. Both females have been talking very big and greasy.

Seeing them take it to the stage would definitely be the most cathartic outcome possible for all parties involved.
