Team Pacquiao Calls for a Fight with Conor Benn!

Social media is burning up with the news that eight-divisional champion Manny “Pac Man” Pacquiao is looking to come out of retirement to fight welterweight Conor “The Destroyer” Benn (21-0, 14KO).

Pac Man hung up the gloves following a defeat at the hands of former WBA Super champion Yordenis Ugas in August 2021. In an interview on The Filipino Show Toni Talks, Pacquiao officially announced his retirement from the sport.

THE SUGGESTION THAT KICKED IT ALL OFF

The Filipino Senator seems to be ready to get back into the ring as a representative of MP Promotions, Sean Gibbons, took to social media with a message that sent fans into a frenzy.

Paying close attention to the situation, Benn quickly responded in favor of the opportunity.

By now, the boxing community is well aware of The Destroyer’s situation with the two positive tests for a banned substance. Moreover, he is not out of hot water. The BBBOfC is still investigating the matter and continue to hold onto his boxing license.

The WBC’s willingness to reinstate Benn into the rankings seems to be good enough for Team Pacquiao. The Filipino Senator has not been out of the ring for 18 months. However, he continued working out in the gym, staying in shape, and feels good enough to make a comeback. If this is indeed a fight they are looking to pursue, getting Benn a license won’t be a problem, especially if they decide to make the fight in the United States.

It has been quite the turn of events, as Benn has gone from being mocked on social media to a possible showdown with a future Hall of Famer in Pacquiao. Nothing concrete has been announced, but this story has captured the interest of the entire boxing community.
