Lightweight Prospect Tsendbaatar Erdenebat – Alleged Mole for Gervonta Davis

Tsendbaatar “Chinggis Khaan” Erdenebat (5-0, 3 KOs) is a 26-year-old lightweight trying to make a name for himself. Like all prospects, he has aspirations of winning a world title. But he is a fighter who suddenly has become a hot topic for fans and pundits.

IMPRESSIVE PEDIGREE

Erdenebat is a 26-year-old lefty who was born and raised in Mongolia. His amateur career is quite impressive. It includes competing in the 2016 and 2020 Olympics and winning a gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia. He made his professional debut in September 2018.

In only his second bout as a pro, Erdenebat was fighting in a ten-round bout. In his last outing, he scored an impressive third-round stoppage victory over Giovanni Gutierrez February 2023.

Watching and studying Erdenebat on film, the fundamentals honed by his years as an amateur are evident. He’s very technically sound, calm, and composed in the ring. Chinggis Khaan is not the fleetest of feet but is excellent at cutting off the ring and has surprising hand speed. One of his signature punches is the right hook to the body. During his victory over Gutierrez, Tsendbaatar showed impressive power as he continually hurt him with punches to the head and breadbasket.

HE DID WHAT?

Erdenebat has been trending in boxing circles recently He served as one of Ryan Garcia’s sparring partners for Garcia’s recent stoppage loss to Gervonta “Tank” Davis. During the lead-up to Davis-Garcia, Team Davis alleged that someone was feeding them information. During pre-fight press conferences, Tank alleged that Garcia was hurt while in camp from body shots.

In the aftermath of Davis-Garcia, Erdenebat admitted that he was the one who hurt Garcia with a body shot. When you factor in that his ability to go to the body is one of his best assets, plus his recent admission, and the fact that Garcia was stopped from a body shot, it has only added fuel to the fire that he was the one dishing the dirt to Davis.

Next up for Erdenebat in the ring is a scheduled eight-round contest against Edy Valencia Mercado on April 27 in New York City. Following the news of what he did to Garcia, Chinggis Khaan will have more eyes watching him than ever before.
