Fabio Wardley runs over Nick Webb in one round
Highly touted heavyweight hopeful Fabio Wardley (11-0, 10ko) will be defending the BBB of C English heavyweight title against the fighter Nick Webb (17-2, 13ko).
Webb will make you scratch your head. He has losses against guys like David Allen (18-5-2, 15ko) and Kamil Sokolowski (10-22-2, 4ko), but turned around and has defeated three undefeated prospects in a row. Once a noticeable prospect, winning the BBB of C English heavyweight title would be a big career booster.
Wardley is a powerful puncher on the boxing fast track. He captured the vacant BBB of C title in his first appearance at British promoter Eddie Hearn’s fight camp in 2020. Moreover, he has knocked out or stopped the last ten fighters and has never been past the sixth round.
WARDLEY WAS DONE PLAYING
If you need to go to the bathroom or want something to drink, sit down and wait. It was high octane straight out of the gate as Webb went on the attack and was landing hard, chopping right-hands on the top of the head of Wardley. The two men would throw wild looping shots, looking to end the fight early. Webb was doing good backing up the English champion and was finding success landing right-hands.
Wardley finally got it together as something clicked inside his brain to let his hands go, and he was throwing hard power punches as if his power meter was on full. He landed a crushing right hook to the body followed by a left and right hook combination flush on the chin. This spelled the beginning of the end for Webb. Realizing his opponent was hurt, the English champion punched Webb from one corner to the next, landing nothing but hooks to the body and right-hands to the temple.
Webb put his hands up to protect himself from the incoming onslaught. However, Wardley punched through the guard and crumbled the challenger with a devastating left hook and a fight-ending right-hand.
The referee immediately stepped in, waving off the fight as Webb slumped on the canvas sitting in the corner. Wardley adds another sensational knockout under his belt while maintaining his streak with eleven straight knockouts.
What is next for Fabio Wardley? Well, a fight that can be explored is against the man that was on the undercard, Alen Babic. Both fighters can punch and have a good chin with a motor, and it has the ability to be a main-event of a fan-friendly fight.
