Frank Warren wins verbal rematch with Whyte

Well, it seems the heat between British promoter Frank Warren and former WBC mandatory challenger Dillian “The Body Snatcher” Whyte (27-1, 18ko) isn’t going to die down anytime soon.

So far, Whyte has been a serious thorn in the side of the Queensbury Promotion head honcho. The British heavyweight was adamant about getting his title opportunity. This would have put a damper on an undisputed clash between WBC champion Tyson Fury (30-0-1 21ko) and unified champion Anthony Joshua (23-1, 21ko).

If both champions prevailed in their upcoming respective bouts, the plan was to go straight into an undisputed fight. Furthermore, the British promoter made it abundantly clear he felt a Whyte fight was not worth interrupting the lucrative mega-fight between Fury and Joshua.

Of course, that hurdle was cleared with the unexpected defeat Whyte suffered at the hands of Alexander Povetkin (36-2, 25ko) by a brutal knockout August 22, 2020. There is a healthy level of disdain both men have for each other. So, it was only a matter of time before things would get heated and the personal attacks went even deeper.

HITTING WHERE IT HURTS

Warren recently hit the former WBC mandatory challenger with a sick tweet. He claims both of his two heavyweights, Daniel Dubois (14-0, 13ko) and Joe Joyce (11-0, 10ko), would also leave him in a comatose state equal to what happened against Povetkin.

So by now, we should all be very familiar as to how this works. Whyte is never shy about mixing it up in the ring or outside of it. The British heavyweight tweeted some old information about the British promoter’s financial woes from the past.

Warren is a crafty veteran promoter and also reached back into time. He asked the British heavyweight about a reported 2019 failed test by UKAD from the A-sample. Several people inside the boxing the community wanted answers about the B-sample.
