Adam Azim Accepts Challenge From Eddie Hearn & Dalton Smith

After hearing junior welterweight Dalton “Thunder” Smith (16-0, 12KO) and Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn call him out, Adam “The Assassin” Azim (11-0, 8KO) accepted the challenge.

It’s no secret these two have been on a collision course as Azim has been ordered to defend the EBU (European Boxing Union) title against Smith. He picked up the title after scoring an impressive knockout over Franck Petitjean in November 2023.

Thunder is coming off a spectacular performance against three-time title challenger Jose “Chon” Zepeda. After scoring a fifth-round stoppage, he called out The Assassin for a huge domestic-level showdown.

In addition, Hearn acknowledged that Smith is on the path to fight for a world title. However, they are willing to put that on hold for a fight against The Assassin.

“I haven’t got too much to say to Adam Azim other than, ‘I dare you, I dare you to face Dalton Smith’, . . . but what we want to do is we want to chase the world championship. But, we will drop back down the levels to fight Adam Azim.”

MAKE THE FIGHT

In his last outing, Azim successfully defended the title by stopping Enock Poulsen on February 3. In addition, the Brit has managed to catch the attention of top lightweight contender Keyshawn Davis.

Smith will see a huge boost in the rankings, after grabbing the WBC silver title. Plus, he proved to be ready for the world level with that performance against Zepeda.

The time to make the fight is now, as both men are willing to face each other before making a push toward a world title shot.
