Laila Ali Throws More Shots At Claressa Shields!
Retired two division champion Laila Ali (24-0, 21KO) is still at it as she continues to take verbal shots at the undisputed middleweight and unified junior middleweight champion Claressa “T-Rex” Shields (10-0, 2KO).
Both women have been embroiled in a war of words for the past few months, with Shields constantly calling for a fight with the retired former champion.
“SHE BEE STINGING” IS STILL TALKING!
In an Instagram interview with Charlie Mack on his “Brotherly Love” session, Ali let it be known of how she sees the potential mega fight going down.
“The fact is that she is just not physical enough or big enough to handle me, and she doesn’t have enough skill to keep me off of her. So these are just the facts!
“So what I’m saying is that if I decide to come forward and come after you, you’re not strong enough and do not box well enough to keep me off of you. Because I can street fight. I just come in and brawl or I can box.”
ON SHIELDS POWER OR LACK THEREOF!
“But we have seen her in the ring and I’m not going to take anything away from her and her opponents because we’ve all had to fight some people who just aren’t as talented. I had to do it.
“But you still have to look at how to handle them. You’ve not been able to get these girls out of here. You don’t have no power! So when you’re dealing with somebody who’s an Ali. Come on!”
Ali has a point when it comes to the power of Shields while she’s proven to get the job done in a variety of ways. Power isn’t her forte, having only scored two knockouts in ten fights.
Her last stoppage win coming in 2017 in her fourth career fight against Nikki Adler (16-2, 9KOs).
If these two ever come to an agreement for a dream match-up, the lead-up will be outstanding as these women have a genuine disdain for one another.
