Boxing Is The Brand

Remember When?

Remember the days you would cheer for your favorite fighter and give respect to the opponent.  How about when people appreciated and showed respect for the sport cause they knew how hard these fighters trained.  What about when it was more about the sport and giving the fans the best fights.

Think back to why you loved the Sport and what made you run to the gym early mornings or right after school. Can you think back to the late & great Howard Cosell who talked about the fighter’s instead of focusing on rating’s or purse splits. When the build up to the fight was about the entire card and not personal agenda.

Think back to when trainers and fighters interviews was the headline and not just their personal life. When we cared about the sport and didn’t allow excuses or accepted terms like “business of boxing” cause the best vs best regardless of who’s fighting is what the sport is about.

I can say there are so many reasons as to why things have changed but the sport still is BOXING. Being a supporter of the sport not a fan of a fighter is what it used to be like when fights were made because of public opinion and not based off of media agenda driven ideology.

It shouldn’t matter who promotes whowhat network someone fights for, purse or ratings. The reality it’s all still BOXING! If the integrity of the sport and those who has gave so much to it is to be maintained, then it’s up to all of us to remember why WE LOVE THIS SPORT as a whole and not be divided into pieces.
