Adrien Broner clowns Keith Thurman on his loss to Manny Pacquiao!
Adrien Broner had some interesting revelations in the aftermath of the Manny Pacquiao vs Keith Thurman fight that may seem ironic.
In an interview with Fighthype.com, Broner took some jabs at Thurman, who suffered his first career defeat via split decision to the 40 year-old living legend.
“He got cooked! He got cooked! I told everybody he was gon’ get cooked. That motherfucker was gambling with me at four in the morning. I had to kick him out of the casino!”
The statement “he got cooked” seems ironic because the majority in the boxing community would say the same for Broner when he fought Pacquiao in January!
Those are some shocking revelations, considering the magnitude of Thurman’s fight with Pacquiao. If it’s true the former WBA super champion was in the casino gambling instead of preparing himself mentally for the biggest fight of his career the night before, this reveals he was not only overconfident heading into this fight, but also lacking focus and discipline.
We are already privy to the suspect eating habits of Thurman, revealed in a pre-fight interview. Instead of eating more healthy to optimize his physical and mental presence, his prefight meal consisted of ice cream among other things. This may seem minuscule to some, however, in the fight game, how one takes care of his/her body especially on fight night is key!
Nevertheless, before you can take this and run with it, take into account who the source is. It is not uncommon for Broner to say things to garner attention and grab headlines. Maybe this could be another attempt at doing so.
For now, we’ll have to wait and see whether Thurman has anything to say about this. Maybe we get a Thurman vs Broner bout in 2020? It seems possible, considering the two men have traded words in the past. So, perhaps this latest jab could entice them into a fight.
