Bruce Carrington Decisions Rene Palacios
In his most recent tour of duty, WBC featherweight champion Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington (18-0, 10 KO’s) snags his latest victory by way of unanimous decision. When the scores were revealed, Carrington defeated Rene “Zurdo” Palacios (19-1-1, 10 KO’s) to the tune of 118-110, 117-111 and 116-112 in his first title defense.
Despite the fairly comfortable margin by which he won, there is no doubt that Carrington failed to impress. The Brooklyn native has been making noise in the division and clamoring to prove his elevated station in the sport. Unfortunately, uneven and lackluster showings like this will not advance his claims.
“I want unify. It’s time to get this featherweight division rolling and I want to get ready and start fighting the best in the business, and that’s whoever the champions are in the rest of the featherweight division!”
Of the available champions, Carrington may want to set his ambition on WBO featherweight champion Rafael “El Divino” Espinoza (28-0, 24 KO’s). Espinoza has yet to compete this year and most certainly is in need of an opponent. As this would be a unification and high profile match, both men should be interested in locking this duel in. Yet, let’s see what will come from Team Carrington next.
