Victor Conte Points to Counterevidence of Cross-contamination
When recently flagged for PED’s, following his fight with WBC junior welterweight champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (31-1 15 KO’s), “King Ry” Ryan Garcia (25-1, 20 KO’s) and his team ultimately blamed his failed tests on cross-contamination. Yet, Victor Conte of SNAC (Scientific Nutrition for Advanced Conditioning) was quick to call into question the validity of their claim.
Garcia’s team went on the record saying that King Ry had been vindicated after they said two supplements had been tested and showed the presence of Ostarine, the banned substance in question. This is when Conte highlighted that their testing methods failed to meet the proper standards.
Rather than sending sealed samples of the supplements directly from their source, Team Garcia provided open containers of their own. Now that those same supplements have had their lot numbers pulled and tested in the proper fashion, it’s come to light that there was no actual contamination. Obviously, this heavily implies that Team Garcia has boldly tried to dupe the public by rigging the test results.
WHAT’S THE PLAY NOW?
As a consequence, Team Haney is requesting that the New York State Athletic Commission levy the stiffest penalties against Garcia for this seemingly duplicitous behavior. So once again, the pressure is back on Team Garcia to prove that they had no intentional wrongdoing in this matter. That has become an increasingly difficult task to accomplish given the laundry list of various excuses that Ryan Garcia has flooded social media with.
Over the past few weeks, Garcia has blamed contamination, Team Haney, Victor Conte, VADA and Illuminati for his flagged results. He would ironically settle on the cross-contamination explanation and imply that he was mad at someone on his own team. With this new revelation however, even the cross-contamination story appears to be exceedingly flimsy. Therefore it will be interesting to see what the response is now by Team Garcia. Stay tuned to 3Kings Boxing for further development on this ever-evolving controversy!
