Victor Conte Contests Ryan Garcia’s Cross-contamination Claims

Victor Conte, CEO of SNAC (Scientific Nutrition for Advanced Conditioning), is calling into question the legitimacy of “King Ry” Ryan Garcia’s (35-1, 20KO) test results for supplement cross-contamination.

The boxing community has been buzzing as news hit of Garcia’s supplements testing positive for the banned substance Ostarine. This discovery supports the narrative of supplement cross-contamination that was introduced by King Ry’s legal team. The Californian has taken to social media insinuating a lawsuit will be sent to the companies of those supplements.

Yet, Conte isn’t buying this news and went to social media with an pointed question:

“Why did @ryangarcia test powders from UNSEALED containers W/O chain of custody? IMO it seems possible that tampering may be involved. Strange that TWO products BOTH tested + 4 Ostarine. This is how credible science is conducted. These results cannot be authenticated.”

In addition, he claimed that Team Garcia would not submit a sealed container of the supplements for testing.

“My prediction is @ryangarcia will NOT have samples tested from SEALED tubs of the 2 products he claims exposed him 2 Ostarine. Both products of the same lot# should be purchased & sent directly to the WADA lab. If done, I predict SEALED products would be negative 4 Ostarine.”

Now, the first thing that supporters of King Ry will do is bring up Conte’s past of being involved with steroids. During the build-up for the fight with WBC junior welterweight Devin Haney, King Ry brought up that fact while indicating Haney may be juicing. However, SNAC has been working with and supported by several fighter’s such as Terence Crawford and Caleb Plant.

Like it or not, Conte makes a compelling argument. There is no way to tell if someone had already tampered with the supplements before sending them over for testing.
