Franchon Crews-Dezurn Shows Savannah Marshal a Measure of Respect

On July 1, super middleweight fighter Savannah “The Silent Assassin” Marshall (12-1, 10 KO’s) will get her second chance to become undisputed. Having just lost to undisputed middleweight champion Claressa Shields, Marshall is fortunate to receive this immediate opportunity. This time, Marshall will face the fury of undisputed super middleweight champion “The Heavy Hitting Diva” Franchon Crews-Dezurn (8-1, 2 KO’s).

In past interviews Crews-Dezurn, 36, has made it abundantly clear that she is heads and shoulders a better fighter than Marshall. Yet, The Heavy Hitting Diva harbors no illusions that she will simply walk through her next assignment. She knows there is a respectable fight to be had. In fact, Crews-Dezurn showed esteem for how Marshall, carries herself through the boxing world as she shared with Sky Sports.

“I don’t think you change for anybody, like I ain’t even going to hold you! That’s Savannah, that’s who she is going to be, that’s who I expect her to be. Now when that bell rings, I want to see the real her, that’s what I want to see.”

I’M STILL THE BEST

Luckily for the undisputed champion, she does not have to wait long. The fight will stand as the first defense of her status as undisputed, having added Elin Cederroos’s IBF and WBA straps to her previously acquired WBC and WBO titles in her last duel.

The match will also stand as her first prizefight of the year. Yet, this should not be fantastically surprising as The Heavy Hitting Diva has only fought once a year since 2020. With all the talking and formalities just about done, we can only speculate on the impending clash. Let Crews-Dezurn forecast the outcome however, and she can see only one.

“Savannah is a pitstop for me, respectfully disrespectfully! My mission is so much bigger. If I got to walk through you and walk through hell of the UK fans to make my heaven, it’s going to happen!”
