Gervonta Davis wants to fight more next year
Previously reported by 3kingsboxing, WBA super featherweight champion Gervonta Davis (20-0, 19KOs) will face veteran Abner Mares (31-3-1, 15KOs).
Furthermore, the young champion has been very vocal about some of his past issues. He understands things have to change in order to have a successful career.
The 24 year-old admits the number one priority is staying out of trouble and being more active in 2019. After losing the IBF title on the scale in 2017 and fighting only once this year left pundits and fans wondering how serious he is taking his career.
Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe claims a fight with IBF champion Tevin Farmer will get made.
Davis also wants to hold camp in Florida again professing the hot weather made things easier for making weight.
It’s refreshing to hear the honesty and maturity coming from his camp. In a division loaded with fan friendly fights, he will need to be at his very best with the correct attitude to succeed.
