Vladimir Hernandez Upsets Guido Schramm For The Victory
In a showdown in the junior middleweight division, late replacement Vladimir “24K” Hernandez (15-6, 7KO) scored an early knockout of the year candidate victory over “GES” Guido Schramm (16-4-2, 9KO).
GES did a good job early controlling the distance with the jab and landing the straight right hand. He moved around the ring looking to subdue the oncoming pressure of Hernandez.
After getting outboxed and taking some hard shots in the early rounds, Hernandez landed a punishing body shot that put Schramm in retreat mode momentarily. The Mexican even landed a couple of eye-catching uppercuts when both men were fighting on the inside.
In the middle rounds, Schramm found a groove and landed several counter shots that put Hernandez on the back foot. As the Argentinian was looking to take over the fight, he made the crucial mistake of moving in direct line of sight of 24K’s power left hand.
Hernandez took advantage of Schramm being out of position and landed a one-hitter quitter left hand. As Schramm tumbled to the canvas face-first, the referee quickly called for the stoppage. The Mexican continues to prove that his record can be deceiving.
