Savannah Marshall puts her power on full display against Lolita Muzeya

WBO middleweight champion Savannah “Silent Assassin” Marshall (10-0, 8ko) is on a collision course with the self-proclaimed G.W.O.A.T (Greatest Woman Of All-Time), Claressa “T-rex” Shields. However, first, she must deal with undefeated Lolita Muzeya (16-0, 8ko).

Muzeya is looking to play spoiler as she did back in 2017, derailing the career of another 10-0 fighter named Ruth Chisale. However, the WBO champion is a different animal altogether. The 30-year-old Zambia native is a good boxer that likes to work behind the jab. Moreover, she pressures her opponents while looking to land body shots and left hooks when at close range. Her biggest career achievement to date is winning the WBC Silver welterweight title in front of a large crowd, and with the Vice President of Zimbabwe in attendance.

Marshall is a pure, all-around boxer with power. She throws a power jab and is excellent at judging distance. Moreover, she is defensively sound and looks to end every exchange with short, compact hooks to the body.

The Silent Assassin can change a fight with that long, powerful right-hand. Furthermore, she makes sure to get leverage on the punch, making the impact even more devastating. Marshall is the only fighter to have beat Shields, and the G.W.O.A.T is eager to avenge that amateur defeat. However, Marshall must remain focused on the opponent in front of her before looking towards the undisputed junior middleweight champion.

THE CHAMPIONS POWER IS UNDENIABLE

The challenger came out like a junkyard dog, attacking the champion and pinning her up against the ropes while looking to land the right-hand. Marshall would weather the storm and remaining calm. She then went to work using that power jab and that beautiful, long, powerful right-hand.

The WBO champion started unloading those power shots, mixing up the attack with devastating left hooks to the body and the straight right-hands down the pipe. In the second round, nothing changed.

Marshall turned it up, landing that long, powerful jab and right-hand that sent Muzeya against the ropes. The WBO champion landed a left and right hook combination that prompted the referee to jump in to stop the fight just before the bell sounded.

NEXT UP IS THE LONG AWAITED FIGHT WITH SHIELDS

The Silent Assassin is not silent anymore. This fight was an announcement to the world that she is capable of beating arch-rival Shields. During the post-fight interview, Marshall mentioned returning on a shared card with Shields on December 11, and then they will fight in 2022.
