Devin Haney is Ready to Pull Out All the Stops to Become Undisputed!
When WBC 135-pound champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (27-0, 15KOs) signed to fight unified 135-pound “Ferocious” George Kambosos (20-0, 10KOs) in the latter’s backyard, he knew that this was by far the biggest and most significant fight of his career thus far. With all four titles on the line, the road to Australia hasn’t been easy for The Dream. When he steps into the ring on June 5, he’ll do so without his father and trainer, Bill Haney, in his corner. This comes after the elder Haney’s visa was denied due to a felony conviction from years ago.
PULLING OUT ALL THE STOPS!
However, if you think that has caused Haney to teeter totter on the goal at hand, it hasn’t! Speaking with reporters, he let it be known that he plans on winning by any means necessary!
“[On if father being missing will affect the fight] No! I feel like if that was a factor I wouldn’t be here. You know, I came here with my mind set on not leaving here without the belts. I’m not doing anything different. On Sunday, I will come out undisputed by any means necessary. “
It’s clear that Haney is locked-in and focused solely on the task at hand. In reality, he has no choice but to block out the things he can’t control. As much talking as both sides have done leading up to this fight, none of that will matter once the fighters step into the ring for the biggest fight of their careers.
