Devin Haney Wants Ryan Garcia To Win Fight with Gervonta Davis
Undisputed lightweight champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (29-0, 15KO) will be supporting “King” Ryan Garcia (23-0, 19KO) to defeat Gervonta “Tank” Davis (28-0, 26KO) in hopes of landing a future fight with him.
3kingsboxing.com reported that Garcia has finally shown interest in fighting Haney in a recent social media post. Now, for the longest time, Haney has been chasing a fight with Garcia.
Garcia has looked past the undisputed champion in the past. In 2021, after defeating Luke Campbell to become the WBC Interim titlist, he quickly started pursuing a fight with Davis over then-WBC champion Haney. The Dream wasted no time in taking to social media to call out his amateur rival for ducking.
HANEY WILL BE ROOTING FOR GARCIA
With this sudden change of heart by Garcia, Haney is willing to throw his support behind him. While speaking with the media for his upcoming fight against Vasyl Lomachenko on May 20, The Dream explained why he wants Garcia to be the victor against Davis.
“I’m rooting for him, I want him to win, with that being said, because I want to make the biggest fights happen. He’s showing interest in wanting to fight me, so that’s the guy I want to win.”
If victorious, will Garcia keep his word this time or leave Haney high and dry again? One thing is for certain – the eyes of the boxing community will be watching Davis versus Garcia live on Pay-Per-View from Las Vegas on April 22.
