Harlem Eubank And Sultan Zaurbek Overwhelm the Opposition

Newly crowned WBO Global junior welterweight title Harlem Eubank (19-0, 8KO) became the first fighter to score a knockout victory over Timo Schwarzkopf (22-6, 13KO) in the eleventh round.

This was a matter of ‘you’ve seen one round, then you’ve seen them all’. Eubank quickly attacked the body and looked to land hard hooks over the awkward punches of Schwarzkopf.

As they fought in a phonebooth, Eubank couldn’t miss with the left hook. So much so, one of them dropped the German on the canvas. He shifted focus to the body, and some punches were on the belt line. However, the referee deducted a point for low blows.

As the battle continued, the Brit was landing those counter hooks with ease. Finally, in round eleven, Eubank landed a crushing counter right hook that folded Schwarzkopf on the canvas.

Despite getting up on wobbly legs, Schwarzkopf was not allowed to continue as the referee waved off the fight. Eubank and his father, Chris Eubank Sr., wasted no time revealing a move to welterweight is next and they want to fight Conor Benn.

SULTAN ZAURBEK EASILY DESTROYS SERGIO SOSA

Junior lightweight contender Sultan Zaurbek (16-0, 12KO) is one step closer to a title shot after making quick work of Sergio Martin Sosa (13-4, 3KO) in six rounds.

This fight was lion versus lamb, as Zaurbek was firing on all cylinders. He fought aggressively off the front foot, behind the jab, and landed compact punches en route to dropping Sosa in round two.

As the fight continued, the Kazakhstani had Sosa in trouble several times from landing hard hooks and uppercuts on the button. He used speed, footwork, power, and ring IQ to overwhelm the Argentinian.

In round six, Zaurbek scored another knockdown from a body shot. Realizing his opponent was ready to go, he poured on the attack by landing several unanswered shots that forced the referee to call a halt to the action.

This was a good victory for Zaurbek, who picked up the WBO Global title in the process. Ranked #6 WBA and #14 IBF, it’s time to step it up and fight someone within the top ten as he’s marching towards a title shot.
