Announcement expected as soon as today
Looks like things are heating up as an announcement is expected for Jarrett Hurd to face Erislandy Lara in a unification fight with the IBF and WBA Light Middleweight belts on the line. After a couple of months of going back and forth on social media this fight is finally going to happen. Lara with just two losses on his record is considered by many to be the man in 154lbs division.
Hurd is a young lion who’s undefeated and has a bruising style of imposing his will on fighters. Looks like the fight will get a April date perhaps the 7th or later but an official announcement can come as soon as today. It’s a step in the right direction for Lara who’s coming from a lackluster performance against Terrell Gausha, and Hurd is riding a wave coming off a victory against Austin Trout where he got yet another stoppage.
