Osleys Iglesias Stops Marcelo Coceres in the First Round!
In a super middleweight showdown, prospect Osleys Iglesias (10-0, 9KO) made quick work of veteran and one-time title challenger “El Terrible” Marcelo Coceres (32-7-1, 18KO).
If you stepped away for a moment, you are watching the replay. The introductions were longer than the actual fight. Iglesis, a decorated Cuban amateur, looked strong off the front foot and behind the jab.
He put together combination punches early while stalking the Argentinian. Out of nowhere, Iglesias landed a powerful left hook right on the temple that crumbled El Terrible. While on the canvas Coceres was rolling around trying to recover but was counted out in the first round.
MARCELO COCERES GETS SERVED ANOTHER KO
Although it was a statement-making knockout for the Cuban, it is worth pointing out that Coceres is coming off a brutal stoppage at the hands of Diego Pacheco.
Yet, Iglesias deserves praise for the way he went about scoring the stoppage. He holds the fringe IBO title and is being compared to guys like Christian Mbilli and Eric Bazinyan as part of the Eye Of The Tiger stable.
