Spike O’Sullivan returns in a lower weight division

The man with the “interesting” mustache, Gary “Spike” O’Sullivan (29-3, 20KO) will make his 2019 ring debut as junior middleweight. He’ll be facing Khiary Gray (16-4, 12KO) in an eight round bout.

This fight will serve as the co-main event to the Mark DeLuca vs Jimmy Williams main event at the House of Blues in Boston, Massachusetts.

O’Sullivan was being positioned for a potential title opportunity against Canelo Alvarez before being stopped in one round by former IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux.

Following, he bounced back with a unanimous decision victory over journeyman Gabor Gorbics.

Gray is 2-3 in his last five fights and 6-4 out of ten! Although his most recent fight added one to the win column as he scored a first round knockout over journeyman Antonio Fernando in August 2018.

We’ll see if a new division will bring O’Sullivan better success in 2019!
