Kubrat Pulev vows to uncover Joshua’s mental weakness

Provided that he wins his next fight WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO world heavyweight champion Anthony “AJ” Joshua (23-1, 21 KO’s) hopes to secure a mega-fight. AJ has his eyes on securing a high steaks unification bout with WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson “The Gypsy King” Fury (30-0-1, 21 KO’s). The winner would crown the undisputed champion of the division. Before he can do that though, Joshua must first get past the challenge of Kubrat “The Cobra” Pulev (28-1, 14 KO’s).

Pulev, the mandatory challenger for Joshua’s IBF strap, has a December 12 dance date with AJ. And let the Cobra tell it, he has every intention of exposing every ounce of Joshua’s mental fragility! Having studied the unified champion’s past bouts, Pulev is convinced he can brutally dethrone the champ. In particular, the Bulgarian thinks that Joshua’s fight with Andy Ruiz holds the keys that he needs, as he revealed to The Daily.

“I have been watching his fights carefully. He has a good style and he is a good specimen, but he has not shown any mental toughness. Yes, he has skills, but he hasn’t shown the mental strength. This is something from within, in the blood of a man, and he does not have it. Whatever mental toughness he’s got, I know I’m the harder person. This is the difference, my toughness will prevail.”

The Cobra’s lone loss came at the hands of former heavyweight kingpin Wladimir “Dr. Steelhammer” Klitschko (64-5, 53 KO’s). Yet, even that single defeat took place six years ago. Since that time, Pulev has ridden an eight fight win streak. Admittedly, the Bulgarian foresees a strategic battle in the outset, but in the end he is adamant that the conclusion will be sudden and dramatic.

“This is going to be a mind game and a chess game for as long as it lasts – a master chess game – but the only difference is the end is going to come like lightning. I can tell the fans that I will expose AJ again and prove they have been idolizing the wrong guy. I will expose him to the world for a second time!”
