Polanco Decisions Randall; Stanionis or Chukhadzhian Next?
In his latest at bat, Dominican welterweight fighter Rohan “El Rayo” Polanco (17-0, 10 KO’s) collected a comfortable unanimous decision win over Quinton Randall. With the win in the bag, the #7 (WBO) and #11 (WBC) ranked pugilist can look to bigger and better opportunities against Ukrainian boxer Karen Chukhadzhian or Lithuanian bruiser Eimantas Stanionis.
If looking to go the WBO route, then Chukhadzhian (25-3, 13 KO’s) would make for a handsome selection. He is ranked #4 (WBO), #7 (IBF) and #14 (WBC), and is fresh off a May 10 UD victory over Critian Ayala. After beating Ayala, Chukhadzhian hopped back in the win column having just suffered his third professional loss, but second to Jaron Ennis. A bout versus Chukhadzhian would serve as a great litmus test for Polanco for the boxing world to see.
On the WBC side of things is Eimantas Stanionis (15-1, 9 KO’s). Stanionis is #2 (WBA) and #7 (WBC) and currently has a standing September 27 fight date yet no official opponent. It would be a rather swift turn around but would present a great incentive for El Rayo. Only time will tell what is next for the Dominican fighter, so let’s see who he and his team come up with in the next prizefight!
