Rolando Romero wants the all the top lightweights in the ring!

WBA Interim lightweight champion Rolando “Rolly” Romero (12-0, 10ko) makes it clear he is ready for the division’s elite! This after a dominant win en route to a seventh round stoppage over late replacement Avery Sparrow.

The hard-punching Las Vegas fighter has plenty of social media beef brewing. This includes WBC champion Devin “The Dream” Haney, WBA champ Gervonta “Tank” Davis and Ryan “KingRy” Garcia. He recently made a video calling Haney:

“The biggest bitch in boxing!”

Next, he would violate the most sacred code in boxing. Romero dropped an old sparring video of him beating up a young Garcia. He would continue the attack going after two-divisional champion in Davis with a very strong statement.

“Tank will run from me after one punch!”

Well, karma has a way of returning the energy you put out in the universe. In August of 2020, Romero had a horrific performance against top contender Jackson “El Fenix” Marinez. In a fight he should have clearly lost, he was given a gift decision from the judges.

Social media went hard on the WBA interim champion following that fight. Romero was being attacked from all sides as Tank, KingRy and Oscar De La Hoya even joined in on the fun. It even got to the point where a frustrated Rolly spoke out against boxing fans.

“Boxing fans can go fuck themselves!”

Now looking to erase the memory of his performance against Marinez, he was a completely different fighter against Sparrow. He elected to show the world he is not just a puncher but a boxer as well. He did so in impressive fashion.

During a brief post-fight interview on Showtime with Brian Custer, the interim champ didn’t back down when asked if he was ready for the elite fighters at lightweight.

“I been ready and I have been in the ring with most of them. We saw what happened with most of them. I want to fight the best, that is what I want to do.”
