Roy Jones Offended After Questioning the Heart of Mayweather

The boxing community has been abuzz with debates about which side to pick in the heated rivalry featuring Hall of Fame Inductees Roy Jones Jr. and Floyd “Money” Mayweather. However, some feel Jones should have let it go and not responded to Money’s trolling.

What started it was an interview Jones did on the Art Of Ward Podcast. He claimed that Sugar Ray Leonard would have beaten Mayweather. Furthermore, he questioned Mayweather’s heart, which is something any fighter would have taken personally. This resulted in Money posting a video of himself watching Jones get knocked out several times in different fights. Several inside the boxing community felt this was extremely disrespectful and unnecessary.

Mayweather has shown heart several times throughout his career. In the fight against Shane Mosley, he had to overcome adversity after getting hurt early. He admitted to having to dig deep in a fight against Emanuel Augustus on October 21, 2000.

Jones has since issued a challenge to the Hall of Fame Inductee. In reality, he probably should have let it go and not responded. To be fair, he is entitled to his opinion on whether Mayweather would have beaten Leonard. But any fighter would have responded the same way Mayweather did if you questioned their heart.
