Juergen Uldedaj Decisions Fogoum in Cruiserweight Title Bout
In his latest tour of duty, cruiserweight fighter Juergen Uldedaj (21-1, 8 KO’s) picked up a wide unanimous decision over Rolly Fogoum. With the victory, his second of the year, the Albanian bruiser took possession of the vacant IBO cruiserweight title.
Armed with this win, and belt, Uldedaj will have greater pull at the bargaining table for the foreseeable future. The question now becomes, who should he test his might against next? At the present time, Uldedaj is ranked #11 (IBF). Perhaps he can parley this recent successful outing and his title to secure a duel with #3 (IBF) ranked boxer Chris Billam-Smith (21-2, 13 KO’s).
For his part, Billam-Smith is coming off a twelve-round unanimous decision win over Brandon Glanton. This victory was the first since suffering a UD loss to Gilberto Ramirez. Billam-Smith has only fought one time this year and could very well be itching for a fight. If so, the fact that Uldedaj has a title and is coming off a solid win should make him all that much more appealing of an opponent.
For the time being, however, we are just going to have to wait and see what is next for Juergen Uldedaj who is no doubt riding high.
