Showtime Loses Deontay Wilder vs Luis Ortiz Rematch to Fox PPV!
We here at 3kingsboxing.com previously reported the rematch between WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder and top contender Luis Ortiz could be headed to Fox PPV instead of Showtime.
Well folks, that is indeed what will happen! After a long back-and-forth negotiation with both networks, Fox has come out the winner!
As the deal comes to a close, the bout has been rumored to take place November 23 at the Barclays Center.
However, expect the official announcement at the highly anticipated welterweight unification clash between IBF champion Errol Spence and WBC champion Shawn Porter.
This is a huge and devastating blow for Showtime. The network was banking on having “their” guy, the explosive knockout artist Wilder back on their network. Even worse, this will be the fourth consecutive mega-fight pay per view Showtime has lost to Fox. Errol Spence vs Mikey Garcia, Keith Thurman vs Manny Pacquiao, Errol Spence vs Shawn Porter and Deontay Wilder vs Luis Ortiz will either have already taken place or will take place on Fox PPV.
What will happen with the relationship between PBC and Showtime now? It’ll be interesting to see how Showtime rebounds moving forward.
3kingsboxing.com will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.

Deontay wilder is not a big name in the us. Showtime could have picked it up. But declined
I don’t blame them. Wilder needs his opponents to gain big ppv buys. Ortiz, is not that
Wilder theoretically should prevail, but he better be alert Ortiz can fight/punch in the great tradition of Cuban fighters.after Ruiz/Joshua. and Fury’s debacle in the last fight, nothing regarding heavyweights surprises me any more
