Austin Williams Promises Knockout Win Over Felix Cash!
The middleweight division is heating up with rivalries as top contenders Felix Cash (15-0, 10KO) and Austin “Ammo” Williams (13-0, 9KO) are likely to clash in 2023. Williams is already vowing to lay Cash out on the canvas.
THE BACKSTORY
This situation started when Cash went after Ammo following a victory against Kieron “Too Class” Conway on September 17. Unimpressed by Williams’s performance, he took to social media stating how lucky the Milwaukee native was that Conway was not a puncher.
The irony in that statement is Cash tasted the canvas twice in his last outing against Magomed Madiev, who only has a 26% knockout ratio. That is not much different from Williams’ opponent in Conway, who has an 18% knockout ratio.
Williams, upset by that statement, is looking forward to fighting Cash next in 2023. In addition, their promoter, Eddie Hearn, revealed on a live Q&A with the fans that both fighters have agreed to fight in principle.
Before they can step into the ring, Cash must get past the current assignment in subpar opponent Celso Neves on December 10.
AMMO WILLIAMS IS PROMISING THE KNOCKOUT
During an interview at the final presser with Boxing Social, Williams talked up getting in the face of his rival after the fight and promising to knock him out.
“I’m already so far ahead of Cash. I’m just hoping he gets this ring rust off, so he has the confidence to sign the contract. I don’t want him to scurry away or say: ‘oh this has been a bad year, I’m not ready for Ammo; give me one more tune-up,’ or nothing like that.”
“I’m really here, I’m in this place. I’m going to be in his face, and I’m going to be really seeing if he was really truly about what he’s talking about.”
He added one last message for Cash for when they fight.
“I’m going to knock him out cold. I will knock Felix Cash out!”
