2017: Boxing Lays The Groundwork For The Future

What Will You Remember Most

Was 2017 the year we’ve all been waiting for? I mean when you look back at 2015 or 2016, are they lackluster compared to what we witnessed this year? If you stop and think about all the surprises we saw from Rungvisai, Jeff Horn & Julius Indongo literally dropping out of NOWHERE. The matches that was made and the emergence of the Superfly series to the excitement of woman’s boxing.

Will this year be remembered as the year guys like Anthony Joshua & Terence Crawford separated themselves from the pack. By having huge breakout performances and ROARING out to the world they will be a force to reckon with.

The tournaments of the WBSS both Cruiserweight & Super middle weight also making a mark this year as well. Or will we remember fighters like Errol Spence, Artur Beterbiev & Dmitry Bivol finally reaching championship gold. How can anyone forget George Groves finally seeing his dream of becoming a champion come true.

Will we remember 2017 as a year we lost some of the greats that helped grow this sport like Rafael Garcia & Ferdie Pacheco and rising stars like Cesar Diaz R.I.P. The retiring of future Hall of Famer’s Wladimir Klitschko, Andre Ward & Miguel Cotto….. One can look back at many scenario’s to sum up the year.

2017 will be a year that fans got many of the fights they wanted and will leave us yearning with excitement as we look towards the possible match-up for 2018. This year definitely laid the groundwork for the future of boxing and showed why BOXING WILL NEVER DIE
