Adam Azim Could Scope Barboza or Ortiz With Scoby Stoppage
In his latest tour of duty, super lightweight fighter Adam “The Assassin” Azim (14-0, 11 KO’s) claimed a buzzer-beating twelfth-round TKO over Kurt Scoby. Naturally, the UK bruiser will be looking for bigger and better opposition in his next at-bat. Being ranked #9 (WBC) and #10 (IBF), The Assassin holds a good footing for securing solid matchups. Names like Jamaine “The Technician” Ortiz (20-2-1, 10 KO’s) and Arnold Barboza Jr. could be options for Azim.
One of the first names that spring to mind is #8 (IBF), #8 (WBC), #9 (WBA) and #11 (WBO) ranked boxer Jamaine “The Technician” Ortiz (20-2-1, 10 KO’s). Ortiz is currently on a three-fight win streak after suffering a controversial loss to Teofimo Lopez back on February 8, 2024. Since then, The Technician has picked up one UD and a pair of TKO’s. A match with Ortiz would not only put a more recognizable name on his resume, but it would also expand his brand by bringing him more in view of the American market.
Likewise, there is also #4 (WBO) and #4 (WBC) ranked Arnold Barboza Jr. (32-1, 11 KO’s). Yet, while both he and Ortiz lost to Teofimo Lopez, Barboza is fresh off that defeat and looking to get back in the win column. In either case, both would make for beneficial prizefights for Azim.
