Ra’eese Aleem Expecting WBO Mandate for Match with Stephen Fulton Soon

On Sunday September 4, super bantamweight fighter Ra’eese “The Beast” Aleem (19-0, 12 KO’s) will next compete on the free portion of the Andy Ruiz versus Luis Ortiz undercard. Yet, while he is not looking past his next opponent, he definitely has his eyes set to bigger prizes after his next match.

If victorious, then The Beast envisions a fight with WBO and WBC super bantamweight champion Stephen “Cool Boy Steph” Fulton (21-0, 8 KO’s) coming quickly after. Aleem, who is ranked #8 (WBC), #10 (WBO) and #12 (IBF), believes there is a strong possibility that the WBO will mandate the fight, as he told EsNews.

“Well, after this fight I see the WBO mandating a fight between me and Stephen Fulton and that fight happening! And then once I beat him, it’s [Murodjon] Akhmadaliev to unify.”

IN HOT PURSUIT

Back in 2020, Aleem stopped Adam Lopez and Marcus Bates. The Beast followed that victory up with two 2021 wins over Vic Pasillas and Eduardo Baez. The Michigan native believes he is inches away from a title shot. While he may be closer than ever at the moment, The Beast has been dreaming about a duel with Cool Boy Steph for some time. Yet, before he can get too lost in counting unhatched chickens, Aleem must first claim the win on September 4.
