Bomac McIntyre Wants to Cue Up Eubank Jr. vs Conor Benn Next!
As of late, revered chief second Brian “Bomac” McIntyre has had his name ringing for the past several weeks. First due to his longtime charge Terence Crawford becoming the undisputed welterweight champion. Now, Bomac has aided middleweight Chris Eubank Jr. (33-3, 24 KO’s) in achieving his latest victory. In what was actually their first assignment together, Eubank Jr. snagged retribution and a TKO over Liam Smith. Now, sights are being set toward welterweight Conor “The Destroyer” Benn (21-0, 14 KO’s).
While conducting a post-fight interview with Fight Hub TV, McIntyre expressed his unfiltered viewpoint of staging a match with Benn.
“Tell Conor Benn to get his ass on the chopping block so we can go! It’s real simple.”
PUNKS JUMP UP TO GET BEAT DOWN!
Despite residing in two separate weight classes, the two have already initiated a healthy and heated war of words. More than talk, the two had a signed contract and were heading to war before Benn was flagged for failing a random drug test. After many months and ridicule, Benn has largely been absolved of the violation even though he still bears the scarlet letter of having been flagged in the first place.
Obviously though, Team Eubanks is fully on board with resigning for a showdown with Benn. Before anyone gets too excited about the notion of finally seeing UK fighters Eubank Jr. and Benn in the ring, first we better see if Eubank Jr. rematches Liam Smith in a trilogy. There is a good chance that this happens.
At the same time, it shouldn’t drop anyone’s jaw if Eubank Jr., ranked #4 (WBC) and #11 (WBO), did move on and contracted a scrap with a new opponent. In any case, 3Kings Boxing will keep the finger on the pulse of all the latest developments and announcements.
