WBSS Quarter-Finalist In Coma
Most boxing fans only remember Erik Skoglund as the opponentof Callum Smith recently inthe quarter-final round of the World Boxing Super Series. Smith defeated the previously undefeated Skoglund by unanimous decision.
In a saddening surprise his team released a statement (below) saying he was placed in a medically induced coma due to complications from a brain bleed.

It is unclear at this time if the bleed was a result of his most recent bout with Smith or whether it happened in training. The truth is that boxing is a brutal sport period and there is no safe way or time to get hit in the head.
