Bozy Ennis is Ready to Receive Crawford’s Call to Challenge Boots

Derek “Bozy” Ennis, trainer, and father of IBF welterweight champion Jaron “Boots” Ennis (31-0, 28KO), says they are available if unified champion Terence “Bud” Crawford gives them a call.

The growing belief amongst boxing fans is that the rematch with Crawford (40-0, 31KO) and Errol Spence Jr. may either not happen or get seriously pushed back. Social media caught fire after former unified champion Spence posted a picture of his eye following cataract surgery.

Boxing fans’ belief that the rematch may not happen was increased after Bud’s response to his rival’s explanation for taking too many punches.

GIVE US A CALL

One camp that is paying close attention to everything going on in the division is Team Ennis. In an interview with YSM Sports Media, Bozy stated they are ready if Crawford picks up the phone.

“We stay available. We’re available for anybody, you know what I mean? We got the title, so whoever wants the title has to come and get it.”

It’s well documented that Team Ennis has been wanting to fight Crawford since he held the undisputed crown. Bozy’s son, Boots, was elevated to full IBF champion status a few months after destroying challenger Roiman Villa.

The elder Ennis revealed that if Crawford vacates the belts to fight Spence in the rematch at junior middleweight, they plan to challenge for the WBC title.

“We are going to go and fight whoever got the WBC. If he gives the title up, we are going after the one who got that.”

Team Ennis had a good year in 2023 and are looking to make even more noise in 2024.
