Brian Norman Jr. Stops Wagner and Returns to the Win Column
In his latest duel, former welterweight champion Brian “The Assassin II” Norman Jr (29-1, 23 KO’s) resumed his winning ways. Norman accomplished this by stopping Josh “The Boss” Wagner (19-3, 10 KO’s) by way of second round TKO. In all honesty, Wagner should be in danger of having his purse withheld given the amount of acting and angling for sympathy that he did.
Heading into the bout with Wagner, as is his way, Norman remained tight-lipped in regard to who he may want to face next. Sadly, during his post-fight interview The Assassin II did not bring any more clarity to the situation. The only person that the world knows Norman wants is WBO 147-pound champion Devin Haney, who handed him his only professional loss.
It is rather unlikely that Haney will want to dance with Norman any time soon. Perhaps he will set his sights on WBA welterweight champion Roland Romero. For a period of time, Haney and Romero were negotiating to battle until those talks ultimately dissolved. Despite being a champion Romero, is not having the best of luck getting back in the ring. Agreeing to face one another may be mutually beneficial to both fighters.
