Butler Misses Weight, Luke Campbell at a Huge Weight Disadvantage

Butler may miss shot at title after coming way heavy first time on the scale

Looks like Paul Butler (26-1,14KO’s) missed weight by at least 3 pounds today in his first attempt as he failed to make the 118lb limit. He now has about an hour and a half to shed the extra weight. Butler is scheduled to fight for the vacant IBF Bantamweight Title against Emmanuel Rodriguez (17-0,12KO’s) at the O2 Arena in London tomorrow night.

If Butler fails to make weight, Rodriguez who weighed 117.7lbs, will be the only one allowed to win the title. It’s a disappointing turn of events, to see a fighter lose a title on the scale once again.

Also, a late addition to the card was former world title challenger Luke Campbell as he will take on Troy James in a bout that was put together in just a couple of days. Campbell will be at a large weight disadvantage as he weighed in at 136.6lbs while James came in at 147lbs in a bout listed for super lightweight.
