Manny Pacquiao and Adrien Broner Make Weight!

When: Saturday, January 19
Where: MGM Grand, Las Vegas, NV, USA
Time: 9:00 PM ET / 2:00 AM GMT – The main event is estimated to happen at 11:00 PM ET!

Well the moment of truth is here! Another moment in which the always controversial but talented and highly marketable Adrien Broner finds himself in another big fight.

As both men stepped on the scales registering 146 1/2 and 146 pounds for Broner and Pacquiao respectively, the atmosphere grew more electrifying the deal was sealed for the fight to happen!

Many fans were skeptical of Broner making the weight. This due to footage of him hitting the pads with trainer Kevin Cunningham carrying a noticeable gut less than two months ago. Then of course he had another legal situation where he spent a night in jail. Lastly, he verbally accosted hall of fame analyst Al Bernstein at the final presser.

Regardless, the fact he shed the fat and sculpted himself down to 146 pounds shows in itself he may finally be taking things seriously.

Honestly, the truth is Broner has never had problems making the welterweight limit. Additionally, Cunningham is well known for getting his fighters into great shape.

Nevertheless, that does not take away from what seems to be excellent work ethic on Broner’s part.

Can He Execute Well Enough To Win?

But, does he have what it takes to win? Does he have the IQ to understand his flaws, develop a game-plan for himself and execute it? Can he make the necessary adjustments in real-time?

In previous losses against Mikey Garcia, Shawn Porter and Marcos Maidana, he had trouble adjusting properly. Furthermore, displayed a low output, leaving many spectators yelling “let your hands go” whether ringside or at home.

In arguably his most compelling defeat, he looked completely lost against Garcia. This showed that not only does he become complacent looking to counter which lowers his output, but he may not have the IQ to adjust when needed.

Pacquiao, though 40 years-old, is still able to compete on a high level. Plus, he has the kind of style where his opponent may have to fall-back on a plan B or even a plan C!

Will Broner be prepared this time? We will see January 19, live on Showtime PPV at 9:00 PM ET!
