Caroline Dubois Expects An Early Knockout Win Over Terri Harper

WBC women’s lightweight champion Caroline “Sweet Caroline” Dubois (12-0-1, 5 KOs) is confident she reigns supreme at 135 pounds. She plans to prove it in her highly anticipated unification clash with reigning WBA belt-holder Terri Harper, predicting she will stop Harper well before the final bell.

PLANNING TO END MATTERS EARLY

There’s been plenty of bad blood between the two world champions even before this fight was announced. The animosity continued during a media event for Britain’s Sky Sports Boxing where the ladies got into a shoving match, with Harper spewing verbal insults. Afterwards, the WBC champion didn’t hold back how she envisions things will play out once the bell rings.

“When I started camp, I thought I’d stop her in six, seven. But now, I believe it’ll be in four. I was surprised. I didn’t know she was on that, but it’s all good. If we want to get ugly, we can get ugly.”

Harper (16-2-2, 6 KOs), a seasoned three-division world champion, has fired back by labeling Dubois a bully and backing her own experience and ring IQ as the deciding factors. With a height and reach advantage, Harper believes she can outbox her younger rival.

Still, Dubois brings explosive speed, sharper athleticism, and arguably greater punching power into the matchup. Harper has suffered stoppage losses before, something Dubois will look to exploit as she aims to make a statement.

Some pundits believe the Dubois vs Harper showdown is a battle between the top two fighters in the women’s lightweight division. A dominant win for Dubois would not only unify titles but solidify her claim as the undisputed force at 135 pounds.
