Caroline Dubois vs Alycia Baumgardner Must Happen In 2027
Unified lightweight champion “Sweet” Caroline Dubois (14-0-1, 5KO) retained the titles with a win over Amelia Moore by unanimous decision. With this fight in the rearview, the focus is now on a showdown with one-time undisputed 130-pound champion Alycia “The Bomb” Baumgardner (18-1, 7KO).
This was nothing more than a stay-busy fight and to keep the fans interested in seeing her face rival stablemate The Bomb. Right out of the gate, Sweet Caroline used the jab and combination punches to control the fight. Under the guidance of new trainer Manny Robles, the unified champion looked a little more polished.
Sweet scored a knockdown in the fifth round and outboxed the unknown Moore with ease. When the final bell sounded, all three judges scored it for Dubois by a wide margin. It didn’t take long for the sparks to fly between Dubois and Baumgardner.
The two rivals got into a heated back-and-forth at ringside. Dubois grabbed a microphone to address Baumgardner. However, the one-time undisputed champion wasn’t intimidated and barked right back.
Baumgardner must take care of business against IBF champion Elif Nur Turhan on November 8 before this fight can become a reality.
