Terence Crawford Has Reached The Limit With Teofimo Lopez
WBA junior middleweight champion Terence “Bud” Crawford (41-0, 31KO) is not playing with WBO junior welterweight champion “The Takeover” Teofimo Lopez (21-1, 13KO). Bud has grown tired of his former stablemate’s antics while stating how Lopez isn’t doing things the right way.
The Takeover has been barking in Crawford’s direction to get a fight for quite some time. He even took a shot at the WBA champion’s undisputed run at welterweight. This led to a heated response in which the Nebraskan called the WBO champion out of names.
While speaking with the social media outlet Under Construction, Bud ripped into Lopez for showing him a lack of respect.
“Teo is a bitch. It’s a way that you go about getting a fight. As a man, you’re not about to disrespect me as a man, because I’m not disrespecting you as a man. I never disrespected [Errol] Spence when I called Spence out. I never disrespected Canelo when I called Canelo out …This little motherfucker is disrespectful … He playing ’cause he thinks everything is a game.”
SHOULD THEY FIGHT?
Lopez hasn’t stopped dishing out the disrespect. He came under heavy fire for referring to Crawford and WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis as Monkeys.
With all that Crawford has said, boxing fans will say he should fight Lopez and shut him up. They would be correct in saying so, but the problem is it’s a fight that won’t happen.
Top Rank will never sign off on it, that’s the number one issue that would prevent the fight from happening. Secondly, Lopez would have to go up two weights classes, as Crawford won’t come down or do a catchweight.
In this author’s opinion, he should call Lopez’s bluff and give them an offer. That’s the only way to see if Team Lopez is serious or using his name for clout.
