De La Hoya Calls Out Canelo For Being Afraid Of David Benavidez

Golden Boy CEO Oscar De La Hoya continues to throw jabs at his former protege in undisputed super middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (61-2-2, 39KO). De La Hoya took to social media with a message for the fans that included two-time champion David “The Monster” Benavidez (28-0, 24KO).

The bad blood these two have carried for each other has been going on for years. During the build-up to Canelo Alvarez versus Jaime Munguia, De La Hoya demanded the undisputed champion recognize who made him famous. The two former friends were separated as Canelo accused his former promoter of stealing money from other fighters.

The Golden Boy CEO didn’t take that accusation lying down and filed a defamation lawsuit against Canelo. Earlier today, De La Hoya took to social media with another shot at the undisputed champion.

De La Hoya posted a video on Instagram thanking Canelo for making him a ton of money because of his fear of Benavidez.

“Canelo I just saw another video where you’re still talking shit. All you say is fuck him, fuck that. Oh, he stole from me. . why don’t you look inside your own circle, because I know for a fact that people are stealing from you.”

“By the way, you lined my pockets and made Munguia a shit load of money. All because you are afraid of David Benavidez. Fuck You!”

Like it or not, Several fans will agree with De La Hoya on the Benavidez angle. The boxing community attacked Canelo for requesting a king’s ransom to fight The Monster.

As for De La Hoya and Alvarez’s feud, it may never die.
