Oscar De La Hoya Went After Eddie Hearn For Doing A Poor Job
Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya was in rare form during his clapback Thursday edition. De La Hoya aimed at his favorite target, Matchrooms Boxing’s Eddie Hearn, on the recent loss of another world title. In addition, he pointed out that Hearn has been on the end of a horrible losing streak in 2024.
De La Hoya has turned his weekly clapback Thursday segment into a must-see event. Whether you like him or not, the Golden Boy executive is entertaining and has a point of view.
HE’S HAD A TOUGH YEAR
“Dmitry Bivol suffered his first loss last weekend. Further proving that the Matchroom curse is a real thing.”
De La Hoya tore into the British promoter for claiming that last week’s segment made him horny.
“What losing makes you horny? Fourteen main event fighters of yours lost this year, and that has to be some kind of record. Despite the horrible things people say about you, I don’t dislike you. I’m just pointing out the fact you’re unable to do your job.”
“I don’t care if people say you’re a giant douche and a silver-spoonfed trust fund loser. I think you’re a horrible promoter, and you proved me to be correct.”
In fairness, Hearn has no control over how his fighters will perform in the ring. But, he does deserve credit for making tough fights with other promoters. Isn’t that what De La Hoya called on all the promoters to do, to save the sport?
This feud between the two promoters has been ongoing for years and it doesn’t seem to be dying any time soon.
