No Errol Spence! Danny Garcia will face Ivan Redkach January 25!

3kingsboxing.com has learned two-divisional world champion Danny “Swift” Garcia (35-2, 21ko), will be facing veteran southpaw fighter Ivan Redkach (23-4-1, 18ko) at the Barclays Center, Brooklyn, NY on January 25, 2020.

The Philadelphia welterweight was all set to face unified champion Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr (26-0, 21ko), in another blockbuster Fox Pay-Per-View event to kick-off 2020. However, when news broke about the Dallas native’s car accident, all plans would be delayed until further notice.

Garcia is currently ranked #3 by the WBC and bounced back from a defeat to Shawn Porter in September 2018 with a win over Adrian Granados in April.

While the boxing community awaits for the unified champion to fully recover, the former champion has expressed feeling good about returning to the Barclays Center and spoke about plans of wanting a mega-fight with WBA champion Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao.

“I am back at the Barclays Center my home away from home. This will be my eighth fight at the Barclays Center.

“It’s a great atmosphere. Every time I come here I get the jitters like I am about to fight.

“First of all thank God Spence is doing well recovering. I heard he’s doing good and I heard he’s healthy. I was looking forward to fighting him. That’s always in the future and maybe it could be next after January 25th.

“But yeah Pac-man or Spence those are the fights we want in 2020.”

The latter statement makes it clear that the main focus is the championship. He is not looking to waste time or play games heading into 2020.

Redkach is coming off a three-fight win streak. The latest was a surprising sixth round stoppage of tow-divisional champion Devon Alexander.

Currently ranked #23 by the WBC, a victory would be a major boost and a definite career changer.

Garcia undoubtedly is eager to have a title back in his possession and in 2020 it can all happen. Stay tuned with 3kingboxing.com for more news about one of boxing’s hottest divisions.
