Adam Kownacki Willing to Fight Jarrell Miller if the Price is Right
Although he was born in Poland, heavyweight contender Adam “Baby Face” Kownacki (20-1, 15 KO’s) has nurtured his boxing career here in the United States. Having found a strong supportive Polish community in Brooklyn, Kownacki has established a very impressive local following.
While making his bones within the New York boxing scene, Kownacki has crossed paths with fellow heavyweight Jerrell “Big Baby” Miller (23-0-1, 20 KO’s) countless times. In fact, their history with one another spans back some 15 years to when they were coming up in the amateurs and honing their skills at the infamous Gleason’s Gym. Since all those many years ago, the two have grown to become very good friends as he explained in a recent interview with Fight Hub TV.
Currently, Kownacki is ranked #6 by the WBA and looking to bounce back from his first career loss, by stoppage, at the hands of Robert “The Nordic Nightmare” Helenius (30-3, 19 KO’s).
“I’ve known Miller for years. We came up together in Gleason’s Gym as amateurs, so I knew him for a good 15-16 years. It’s awesome! Me and him are cool…but we’re regular guys, this is our job. I mean we are cool dudes, we’re all trying to feed our families.”
BLOOD FOR A BONUS
At the end of the day though, both Kownacki and Miller have willingly resigned themselves to a gladiator blood sport as their professional occupation. With both maintaining championship ambitions, they fully realize that one day they might have to ply their deadly craft on the field of combat against one another.
Thankfully for the fight fans Baby Face doesn’t think mixing it up in the ring would be that big of a deal. Yet at the same time, being that he and Miller are such merry chums, he would not be coaxed into facing Big Baby unless a significant prize hung in the balance.
When asked if fighting Miller would be difficult
“I don’t think so, we’ve sparred before. Now we just take the gloves off. Well with Miller, unless it was really something high stakes, I wouldn’t want to fight him just because I’ve known him for so long. Unless it’s for a belt or something, a crazy amount of money it wouldn’t even make sense, you know?”
So by the sound of it, while this fight is ultimately a potential one, it’s nothing that we should hope to witness any time soon.
