Teofimo Lopez Sr says the Lopez era is coming

As we have all come to find out, it was a rough road finalizing Loma v Lopez. Thankfully, mutual ground was reached and now WBA super and WBO world lightweight champion Vasiliy “Hi-Tech” Lomachenko (14-1, 10 KO’s) and IBF world lightweight champion Teofimo “El Brooklyn” Lopez (15-0, 12 KO’s) will mix it up on October 17.

And no one could be more amped up than Teofimo Lopez Sr, who is the father and chief second to El Brooklyn, as he expressed to Pep Talk.

JUST A MAN

If you stood within in a two city block radius of Lopez Sr, you have heard him sing the accolades of his son! It’s no secret that he is the IBF champ’s biggest supporter by far. So no bottom jaws should hit the floor when Lopez Sr. claims to have the blueprint for Hi-Tech’s destruction.

After watching a number of Lomachenko’s past fights, the elder Lopez believes he’s seen all the flaws he can exploit.

“Come October 17 it’s going to be a new era in boxing. It’s going to be called the Lopez Era! That’s for all the marbles, and I tell everybody, this is undisputed! This is not no unification, this is undisputed; this is the man that you got beat to become the best on the planet at that division. And we coming, we coming strong!”

“Trust me, I know how to beat his guy. I’ve seen a lot of his videos and we are going to stop all that come October 17. All that hype that they got with this guy, this guy is an ordinary man and my son is going to do what he does best and knock him out!”

JUNGLE EYES

Due to his high in-ring IQ, Senior is supremely confident in El Brooklyn’s ability to swiftly adapt to any foe. This is something that will be particularly handy since Team Lopez is under the impression that Loma is showing signs of slippage

“This guy hasn’t been looking good in his past three fights, and he knows it too! So he not going in there confident, trust me! And by the time that he realizes what’s going on he’s going to be looking at the floor.”

“…listen, we have a game plan, my son does it all! My son adapts to you, it takes him maybe twenty second to adapt to you. So once he adapts and I realize that he has already adapted, then the fight is easy for me. From there we just take it nice and smooth. But the most important rounds are going to be the first three rounds, that’s going to be very important for us.”

While grandiose, big talk like this from Teofimo Lopez Sr. is par for the course . But it will be fun finding out how right, or wrong, he is come fight night!
