Ryota Murata returns to the states!
3KingsBoxing has learned that WBA World champion Ryota Murata will make the second defense of his title on U.S. soil. The reported date and venue is October 20 in Las Vegas at either the MGM Grand or Mandalay Bay.
ESPN Top Rank will be the promoter on record for this upcoming bout. The opponent for Murata (14-1, 11KO) has yet to be determined, but the most likely could be #3 ranked Rob Brant (23-1, 16KO).
Last month the WBA announced Brant as the mandatory with the purse bids scheduled to take place July 15.
This would be the third fight for Murata in the U.S. as he previously fought Gunnar Jackson in 2015 and George Tahdooahnippah in 2016.
The upcoming title defense will be ahiwcased on the ESPN+ app.
