Pulev vs Fury Officially Set October 27

Kubrat Pulev vs. Hughie Fury fight is officially taking place on October 27th

As things in the heavyweight division are starting to heat up and take shape, another good fight has just been announced. Lately, Pulev has been making headlines in pursuit of a higher level fight. He’s had two different purse bids this year alone; one for Dillian Whyte and the other for a battle against “Big baby” Jarrell Miller. Ultimately, neither match was able to be finalized.

Pulev is a former world title challenger. Therein, his only loss came at the hands of Wladimir Klitschko back in 2014. Since then, he has been on a hot streak; racking up 5 victories in the process.

However, Pulev is no spring chicken; he is now 37 and many experts are asking just how much longer he can compete in a division that is starting to get really interesting.

Fury has also had an opportunity to fight for a world title, which also resulted in a loss at the hands of Australia’s Joseph Parker last year. Since that loss, he has been able to win the British title from Sam Sexton this past May.

Hughie Fury is the cousin to lineal heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury. Hughie is only 23, which is relatively young for the heavyweight division. The winner of this match-up will become the mandatory challenger to Anthony Joshua’s IBF title – if in fact he still holds that title after his impending match-up against the hard-hitting Russian, Alexander Povetkin this coming September 22nd.
