Furthermore, the unified champion has made it clear his intention was to fight the winner of the tournament. Ramirez signed a multi-year extension with the powerful Top Rank brand. This may cause some to feel that maybe a fight with the WBSS tournament winner could be out of reach.

WHAT THE PEOPLE WANT

If there is one thing that you can bank on, its that legendary promoter Bob Arum will strike while the iron is hot, and it can’t get any hotter given the performance unified Scottish WBSS winner displayed in a Fight of the Year type battle.

The two elite champions putting it all on the line for boxing supremacy is what will “Put butts in the seats.”

The boxing community is primed for a 2020 showdown to crown another undisputed champion in the division since WBO Welterweight champion Terence Crawford achieved this back in 2017. Both champions are expressing wanting the fight and the boxing community is in gleeful agreement of deserving to see it happen.

This is the very reason why the junior welterweight division has been moving the needle in the sport. Fighters are taking chances, showing the willingness to risk it all reaching for that brass ring called legacy.
