Regis Prograis Hoping to Lure In Devin Haney for his Next Fight
While he was victorious, WBC super lightweight champion Regis “Rougarou” Prograis (29-1, 24 KO’s ) didn’t put on the showing that he wanted. For the second defense of his title, Prograis put on a lackluster performance against last minute replacement Danielito Zorrilla. Ultimately, Rougarou walked away with a split decision victory in a dull hometown fight. Yet, will the performance attract or repel potential opponents like undisputed lightweight champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (30-0, 15 KO’s)?
During his post-fight interview, Prograis was very honest in admitting the outing was far from memorable and even apologized to the crowd. Going a step further, Rougarou confessed that a previously ruled slip probably should have been called a knockdown against him. Even though he gave himself some hard criticism, he still maintained that the correct man prevailed.

With his latest fight in his rearview mirror, Prograis can now put his full attention on who comes next. If given his way, he’d love to glove up and duel with Haney.
“I love it! I saw Bill Haney at the hotel earlier. So if me and Devin can do it next, I think that after this performance they might feel more confident. But I am going to go to the gym and work my ass off and correct my mistakes.”
Haney versus Prograis is a fight that has been a subject of frequent discussion as of late, This is due to many feeling that Haney’s move to super lightweight is imminent.
